One Box Truck, Thousands of Opportunities for Brand Growth

Some projects are simply fun to bring to life, and we were seriously stoked when Extera asked us to wrap a box truck. The project came at the perfect point in our partnership. TMG had recently redesigned Extera’s website, moving it from Beaver Builder to Elementor. Through that process, our team gained an even deeper understanding of the company’s brand, services, and goals.

That experience revealed how Extera wanted to show up in the market: experienced and knowledgeable, yet bold, approachable, and visually distinct from its competitors. With that clarity, we set out to create a truck design that would be unmistakably Extera as it traveled throughout Ohio.

Taking Extera’s Brand on the Road

With a clearer understanding of Extera’s goals, we built on its established brand guidelines and translated its digital identity into a highly visible, real-world design.

That direction became the foundation for the truck wrap. Green reinforces Extera’s commitment to recycling and sustainable container solutions, while purple, one of the executives’ favorite colors, creates a distinctive contrast. Rather than repeating the same design on both sides, we gave each color its own moment while connecting the two sides through consistent messaging and imagery.

One side features Extera’s signature green, while the other leads with bold purple. Both clearly communicate the company’s services and feature plastic bulk containers in two forms: one open and the other collapsed and stacked. Together, the images demonstrate how the containers function in real-world operations.

We also incorporated the icon from Extera’s logo to add texture, dimension, and movement without competing with the primary message.

Because viewers may have only seconds to take in a moving truck, we designed every element for quick recognition and clarity. The result is an energetic, modern design that reflects Extera’s industrial expertise while helping the brand stand out on the road.

Designing Every Angle With Purpose

While the sides introduced Extera’s brand and services, the back of the truck required a different strategy. Because it would most often be viewed by drivers traveling behind it, the information needed to be especially clear and concise.

We included a glimpse of stacked containers to create visual interest without distracting from the primary message and contact information. A strong call to action explains the range of solutions Extera offers, including selling, buying, leasing, repairing, and recycling containers.

Extera’s contact information is displayed prominently, making it easy for potential customers to remember how to reach the company once they are safely off the road.

One element we intentionally left out was a QR code. Although QR codes can be useful on stationary signs and printed materials, encouraging drivers to scan one while on the road creates an unnecessary safety concern. The design needed to capture attention without asking people to reach for their phones behind the wheel.

From Website Strategy to Real-World Brand Growth

This truck wrap was not developed as a standalone graphic. It extends the brand growth established through Extera’s website into an entirely new environment.

The colors, imagery, messaging, and graphic elements now work together across digital and physical touchpoints. That consistency supports brand growth by creating a connected, recognizable experience—whether someone visits Extera’s website or sees its truck traveling through Ohio.

This was more than just a vehicle wrap. This project demonstrates how one strategic brand decision can strengthen every customer touchpoint that follows.

A Moving Design That Keeps Extera Top of Mind

The completed box truck does more than transport containers—it creates an ongoing brand presence everywhere it travels.

Key elements of the project include:

  • A bold, two-color concept built around Extera’s green and purple
  • Large-scale product imagery that communicates what the company provides
  • Product imagery showing both open and collapsed plastic bulk containers
  • Logo elements used to create texture and reinforce brand recognition
  • Clear service messaging that can be understood quickly
  • Prominent contact information for drivers viewing the back of the truck
  • Brand consistency between Extera’s website and physical marketing
  • A QR-code-free design that prioritizes road safety

The result is a truck that works as hard for the brand as it does for the business. It builds recognition, communicates Extera’s services, and gives the company a distinctive presence everywhere it goes.

Extera’s truck wrap shows what can happen when every marketing project builds on the last. Marketing is not about rushing to create more materials. It is about using what your business has already built to make the next project stronger.

For Extera, the website redesign gave TMG a clearer understanding of the brand. That insight shaped a vehicle wrap capable of carrying the same identity into the real world. Each project strengthened the next, creating a more cohesive foundation for continued brand growth.
